Safeguarding Africa’s Elephants Through Partnership and Coexistence

Safeguarding Africa’s Elephants Through Partnership and Coexistence

Showcased at the Resourcing Tomorrow Gala Dinner, this film highlights the EPI’s work and the importance of raising awareness across all sectors, including those whose operations intersect with elephant landscapes. As Africa moves to responsibly develop its natural resources—just as regions in Australia, Asia, Europe, and the United States have done—the role of mining and finance institutions will continue to expand, and many mining companies are already significant philanthropic contributors globally. Engaging these actors is essential to ensuring that biodiversity protection, including elephant conservation, remains central to planning and practice. The EPI is partnering with the conference to help the mining sector understand why elephant conservation matters, how coexistence can be achieved, and how the EPI can support companies and investors in meeting environmental and social goals. This year’s programme also includes a civil society session, where our Board Chair, Hon. Sharon Ikeazor, delivered remarks and later addressed the Gala Dinner.
