The Gediz Basin faces increasing challenges from erosion, land degradation and climate change. The “Sustainable and Integrated Water Resources Management in the Gediz Basin Project” is implemented by the Food and FAO in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Water Management, with financial support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF). This video presents a success story on agricultural terracing. In Manisa, farmer Mustafa Katrancıoğlu restored degraded land through terracing, reducing erosion and improving productivity. His experience shows how sustainable land management can rebuild both livelihoods and the land.
