This video highlights the achievements of the Pesticide Risk Reduction in Bangladesh Project, implemented through coordinated efforts of the Government of Bangladesh and FAO with support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project strengthened pesticide lifecycle management across policy reform, registration, quality control, trade monitoring, safer use, food safety and environmentally sound disposal of obsolete pesticides, including legacy Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) stockpiles. Through institutional capacity building, technical assistance, and multi-stakeholder coordination, the initiative has contributed to reducing environmental and public health risks while promoting sustainable agricultural practices in Bangladesh.
