Effective disease surveillance depends on timely, accurate and accessible laboratory information. As health threats become increasingly complex and interconnected, laboratories play a critical role in detecting risks, supporting diagnosis and informing response efforts.
This video showcases SILAB, a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) designed to support the complete laboratory workflow, from sample reception and testing to reporting and data management. By digitizing laboratory processes, SILAB improves sample traceability, enables real-time reporting and strengthens interoperability between laboratories and other health information systems.
These capabilities help improve decision-making, support disease surveillance and contribute to faster, more coordinated responses to health events.
By strengthening laboratory data management and connectivity, SILAB is helping improve information exchange, support One Health approaches, and enhance animal and public health surveillance.
