IMS has collaborated with partners in Zimbabwe for 20 years to ensure that media has been able to serve communities, hold power to account and push for democratic rights. From legislation to diversity guidelines and equal opportunities for all genders - our work and collaborations with partners and coalitions has contributed to an expansion of media and public interest journalism, progressive media laws, policies and practices, as well as gender diversity and equality improvements. Throughout the years IMS has worked with a long list of media outlets and civil society organisations in the country and regionally – and with our current donors Sida and the Delegation of the European Union to Zimbabwe we continue to support Zimbabwean media’s role as a catalyst, watch dog and enabler of democratic transition in Zimbabwe.
