Director Yomna Khattab and producer Patricia Drati share the motivation behind their film, 50 Meters, and what it was like working together on the film. 50 Meters follows Yomna as she struggles to make her first movie. This is where her good-natured father literally enters the picture. He is an elderly gentleman, but he is young at heart and has many friends with whom he spends his time around an outdoor swimming pool in the middle of Cairo. Yomna turns the camera on her father, and soon her film takes shape before our very eyes. Although her father is a great guy, he may not have been so good at opening his heart to Yomna about the deeper questions of life.
