Zimbabwe NAP Validation Workshop
Stakeholders in Zimbabwe met on 18-19 February to review and validate the country’s National Action Plan for the Limpopo River Basin.
The meeting, held under the project "Integrated Transboundary River Basin Management for the Sustainable Development of the Limpopo River Basin" brought together representatives from government agencies, non-state actors and technical experts to assess the plan’s alignment with national priorities and basin-wide objectives.
A major milestone of the project in 2025 was the approval of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) report in June, which identified and prioritized key water-related environmental challenges facing the basin. These challenges include land degradation, sedimentation and deteriorating water quality. To address these, Member States have been formulating the NAPs and a Strategic Action Programme (SAP). While the SAP tackles basin-wide challenges, NAPs focus on country-specific priorities that have transboundary impact
