Strengthened Coordination with Knowledge Transfer and Exchange: Montenegro’s NIP Update
Advancing its third National Implementation Plan (NIP) update under the Stockholm Convention, Montenegro is strengthening the systems to manage Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), from how data are gathered and verified to how institutions coordinate and sustain progress over time. This NIP Dialogues interview features two experts from Montenegro, Jelena Kovačević, Head of Department for Pollution Control and Chemical Management at the Ministry for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development of Montenegro, and Danijela Suković, Toxicologist at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Clinical Center of Montenegro. The conversation highlights national monitoring capacity, Montenegro's priorities under the 2025–2027 Action Plan, continued regulatory alignment with EU standards and sustained cooperation across institutions.
