Dialogue on DPI & AI Advisory Systems | India AI Impact Pre-Summit Session

Ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Athena Infonomics, DevPartners (DevGlobal and Dev-Afrique), and Development Gateway convened a small, hybrid, invite-only discussion on how countries are designing and scaling AI-enabled public advisory systems, and how these efforts are shaped by underlying Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) choices. The session brought together policymakers, funders, and implementers to share applied experience across sectors and geographies, with a particular focus on agriculture, livestock and water. Through brief case snapshots and an interactive discussion, participants explored real-world implementation questions, including data readiness, interoperability, governance, procurement, evaluation, and responsible AI. Rather than focusing on future promises, the discussion centred on what is being built today, how systems are selected, tested, and governed, and what it will take to move beyond fragmented pilots toward approaches that are scalable, trusted, and capable of delivering durable public value. This conversation forms part of a broader set of pre-summit engagements contributing to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, aimed at strengthening shared learning and coordination around responsible AI and DPI-enabled systems.
