Have you ever wondered what it was like to help save lives in places such as South Sudan, Bangladesh, and Ukraine? 🌟On Wednesday 28th January, the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs was pleased to welcome Mr. Bernard Wiseman, who has been continuing his work in international humanitarian response for ten years and is now an adjunct professor. ⬆️ The IIHA’s January Conversation featured Mr. Bernard Wiseman is currently an international associative coordinator at Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders but originally began his international career working with the Peace Corps. 🌏 During the conversation, Bernard informed students on the importance of relying on one’s moral compass and the humanitarian principles as a guide to inform ethical and professional decisions. He recounted some of the most challenging moments from his career when he was working internationally with MSF and how being adaptable, yet persistent, is key. 🎥This reel is a recap of the motivating insights Bernard had for our student attendees. Attend our next one in person to hear what our next guest has to say. 📍Conversations with Humanitarians takes place on the last Wednesday of each month. Our location is Canisius Hall at FCRH.
