Since the outbreak of conflict in Sudan, millions of people have been forced to flee their homes and continue to face extreme hardship, including hunger, disease, and ongoing violence. Despite the scale of the crisis, much of the suffering remains largely unseen by the world.
This video follows a visit by the Austrian Red Cross, together with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society and Austrian journalists, to an internally displaced persons camp in Atbara, where more than 16,000 people have sought refuge. Through powerful images and testimonies, the film offers a glimpse into the daily realities faced by families living in overcrowded conditions with limited access to healthcare, sanitation, and basic services.
The conflict in Sudan is one of the most severe humanitarian crises of our time. Over the past three years, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement has supported millions of people across the country through healthcare, relief assistance, water and sanitation services, and emergency response efforts. But the needs remain immense, and continued international solidarity and humanitarian support are critical.
