Seeds of Stability: Supporting Farmers & Families in Northwest Syria

In Northwest Syria’s Atmeh Camp, families face daily challenges—floods, food insecurity, and the lasting impact of conflict. Through the Humanitarian Interventions through Lifesaving and Livelihood Support (HILLS) program, Global Communities and Syria Relief are working hand-in-hand with communities to change that story. From training local committees to keep the camp safe from floods, to helping farmers grow and protect their wheat harvests, and restoring mills and bakeries so families can access affordable fortified bread — HILLS combines immediate relief with long-term resilience. 🌾 Nearly 300 metric tons of wheat will be milled into fortified flour. 🍞 More than 52,000 people in Azaz will benefit from subsidized bread. 💧 Community-driven improvements are making life safer in the camp. By combining community-led infrastructure improvements with targeted agricultural support and affordable nutrition, HILLS is helping families meet their immediate needs while laying the groundwork for greater stability and self-reliance.
