Empowering Rural Youth Through Solar-Powered Learning in Timor-Leste
As Timor-Leste expands access to renewable energy, education is being transformed alongside it. In Manatuto, a once non-functional computer room is becoming a fully equipped, solar-powered ICT lab, enabling students to gain hands-on digital skills and practical learning experience for the first time.
This shift connects clean energy with education outcomes, ensuring rural youth can access technology, the internet, and new opportunities for the future.
UNDP is pleased to support Timor-Leste’s green transformation, in partnership with the people and Government of Japan, working together for a more sustainable future for the Pacific.
