Uber Drivers in Latin America: Who They Are and Key Challenges
The digital platform economy has become a source of income for thousands of people across Latin America and the Caribbean.
A survey conducted by the IDB and Uber of more than 13,000 drivers in eight countries across the region provides insights into who they are and what they value about this type of work.
The publication also examines the main challenges they face, such as income instability and limited access to basic services like healthcare, pensions, and unemployment insurance.
