Women Lead. Peace Follows. | Cultural-Educational Programme in Sarajevo (12–18 June 2025) Held at the European House of Culture and National Minorities in Sarajevo, this dynamic seven-day programme showcased the power of art, storytelling, and activism in peacebuilding. As a side event of the international conference “From Gender-Responsive Justice to Sustainable Peace: A Vision for the Next 25 Years”, the programme featured exhibitions, performances, book launches, film screenings, and public discussions. Through the voices and creative expressions of women from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, the event highlighted their vital role in building trust, strengthening social cohesion, and advancing sustainable peace. The conference and cultural-educational programme were jointly organized by the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH and the United Nations in BiH, as part of the UN Secretary-General's Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) initiative “Women Lead the Way Towards Peace and Security in BiH”, implemented by UN Women, UNFPA, and IOM. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark provided additional support. Programme partners included: War Childhood Museum, Austrian Cultural Forum Sarajevo, Embassy of France in BiH, French Institute in BiH, UK International Development, Sarajevo Film Festival, Municipality Center Sarajevo, BIRN BiH, and the Peace with Women’s Face initiative.
