Urinary catheterization - Learning video for nursing care providers
Urinary catheterization is the insertion of a specially designed tube into the bladder through the urethra. There are two types of urinary catheterization: indwelling and intermittent. Indwelling catheters remain in place within the bladder for a period of time, whereas, intermittent are inserted and removed once the bladder has drained. This video demonstrates the procedure of inserting, maintaining and removal of a urinary catheter.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent medical humanitarian organisation that provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare.
The MSF Academy for Healthcare focuses on strengthening the skills and competencies of healthcare workers in MSF projects, with the will to have a long-term impact on the quality of care in the countries where MSF intervenes. It does this by developing and providing specific work-based learning programmes to medical and paramedical workers in the targeted health structures.
