The Bengaluru Debates: Can Radical Transparency Transform Bengaluru?
Bengaluru continues to face a familiar paradox — rising public expenditure alongside persistent gaps in infrastructure and service delivery. Roads are re-laid but deteriorate quickly, drains are built yet flooding persists, and budgets grow without a commensurate improvement in outcomes.
At the heart of this lies a deeper question of transparency. How are public funds allocated? Where are the leakages? And how accessible is this information to citizens?
This edition of The Bengaluru Debates is examining whether radical transparency in public finance and governance can strengthen accountability, improve service delivery, and rebuild trust between citizens and the state.
