The Eye of a Hammerhead Shark

The Eye of a Hammerhead Shark

Unlike the evolutionarily defunct ‘Sid’ from Ice Age, humorously drawn with eyes perched on either side of his head, the bizarrely wide-set eyes of hammerhead sharks serve a very real purpose. They evolved to give these predators far better 3D depth perception for catching prey, plus an almost 360° field of view that keeps them alert to threats in every direction. 🎥: Sebastian Staines
