CSHR's refreshed strategy for 2026-2030 - Responsible Sport.

Today, we launch our refreshed strategy for 2026–2030: Realising the Promise of Sport, Together. Sport has an extraordinary ability to inspire, connect, and unite people across communities and generations. But with that power comes responsibility. Too often, the reality of sport falls short for the people who make it possible - athletes, children, workers, fans, volunteers, and communities. Our strategy sets out a vision for a world of sport where everyone is safe, included, and respected. Over the next five years, the Centre for Sport and Human Rights will work to grow the movement for responsible sport, strengthen collaboration across the ecosystem, and help turn commitments into practical action. This is about making human rights part of how sport is governed, delivered, and experienced - from grassroots participation to the world’s biggest sporting events. We are grateful to the many partners, athletes, institutions, experts, and affected communities whose insights helped shape this strategy. The work ahead belongs to all of us. Together, we can close the gap between the promise and the reality of sport. The children who dream. The athletes who give their all. The workers who build and support it. The fans and communities who bring it to life. Sport connects us. It inspires courage, pride, and belonging. But its real power lies in how it treats people - in fairness that goes beyond the field, leadership that listens, and systems that protect as much as they celebrate. Responsible sport means turning values into action - making safety, inclusion, and dignity part of every decision. Together, we can close the gap between the promise and the reality of sport.
