Troubled waters: How pollution is catching up with us

Plastic pollution is leaving its mark on Lake Victoria – from visible waste along the shores to invisible microplastics contaminating the water and fish. The impact threatens biodiversity, food security, and the livelihoods of millions who depend on the lake. In Uganda, researchers, government officials, and communities are working to understand the problem and find solutions — but the challenge is growing every day.
