War has brought death, displacement, and destruction to Sudan — and its impact reaches deep into the environment. The Nile, the country’s lifeline, is under increasing threat. As water systems collapse, toxic runoff seeps into the soil, and farmlands are abandoned, the environmental fallout is adding to the human suffering already inflicted by violence.
