In the Shadow of Violence: Faiz's Lens on Sudan's Turmoil

In this interview, Faiz, a photojournalist from Sudan, shares his journey through the tumultuous events in his homeland. From capturing moments of violent conflict to facing personal dangers, Faiz's story offers a unique perspective on the challenges faced by journalists in crisis zones. The MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices is a protection initiative for journalists from crisis and conflict regions. Over 60 Sudanese journalists have received shelter, relocation, health support (including mental health), legal aid, and financial assistance. This support is funded by UNESCO’s International Programme for the Development of Communication and the Crisis Response Mechanism of the Global Media Defence Fund. The Hannah-Arendt-Initiative, backed by the German Foreign Office and the Federal Commissioner for Culture and the Media, also supports the initiative.
