Since 1999, MMV and partners have brought forward 19 antimalarials that have helped helped treat or protect 1.48 billion people. These include the first child-friendly artemisinin-based combination therapy, the first single-dose treatment for the prevention of P. vivax malaria relapse and the first African manufactured medicine to prevent malaria in pregnant women and infants. These medicines fight drug resistance, provide treatment and prevention options to underserved populations and hold the promise of a healthier future for all.
