IVI Global Council 2026 | Strengthening Vaccine Partnerships and Biomanufacturing Self-Reliance
Representatives of IVI member states and partners gathered on 28 April in Manila, Philippines, for the 2026 Global Council meeting of the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), hosted by the Government of the Philippines in its capacity as President of the Global Council.
The meeting brought together global health leaders to discuss IVI’s draft 2027–2031 strategy, strengthen collaboration on vaccine research and manufacturing, and advance regional and global health security through partnership and innovation.
On 29 April, IVI and partners—including the Government of the Philippines, the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), and KAIST—also convened the high-level conference “Advancing Biomanufacturing Self-Reliance: From Policy to Practice in Regional R&D, Manufacturing, and Health Security Financing,” bringing together leaders from government, development banks, and industry to explore practical pathways for strengthening vaccine R&D, manufacturing, and financing ecosystems.
The two-day program reflects IVI’s continued commitment to fostering collaboration among member states and partners toward a healthier world made possible by vaccination, available to everyone, everywhere.
