Conservation is working in Thailand's tiger landscapes

This isn’t just a wildlife sighting — it’s a glimpse into a successful conservation story unfolding in Thailand’s Western Forest Complex. The sambar deer wearing a radio collar in this video is one of 149 released since 2021 by Thailand’s Department of National Parks in collaboration with WWF-Thailand. These releases are part of an effort to restore prey populations which will in turn support the recovery of wild tigers in the country 🐅 Historical hunting has reduced tiger prey species to dangerously low levels. But now, thanks to this project, sambar deer are not only surviving — they’re breeding.
