The impact of the war in the Middle East on financial stability and economic resilience was at the top of the agenda of the Finance Ministers meeting this week. We shared with them the role of the European Investment Bank as Europe's investment engine, supporting energy autonomy, economic security, and boosting financing at scale for successful innovators and startups. With Executive Vice Presidents Virkkunen, Séjourné, and Commissioner Zaharieva, we agreed to accelerate investments for artificial intelligence infrastructures, energy, critical raw materials, scaleups and digital innovation. We signed important projects to build affordable homes in Germany and support students across Europe. Because social infrastructures and education are key driver of future prosperity.
