The Zero Waste in the Caribbean Project: Building a Circular Economy for the Region

The Zero Waste in the Caribbean: New Ways, New Waves project is helping build a cleaner, more sustainable future for the Caribbean region. In collaboration with CARIFORUM, this initiative is funded by the European Union and co-financed by the German Government. It is jointly implemented by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the French Development Agency (AFD), in partnership with the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). Running from 2022 to 2026, the project supports Caribbean countries in strengthening solid waste management systems, aligning them with circular economy principles and climate commitments. By giving visibility to the EU–CARIFORUM partnership, the initiative promotes timely messages on sustainable development, fosters investment opportunities and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. #ZeroWasteCaribbean #BeatWastePollution #ZeroWaste #CircularEconomy #ReduceReuseRecycle
