What happens when fungi find their way into our brains? | Wellcome
Brain invading fungi might sound like science fiction, but they are a real-world health threat.
In this episode of ‘When Science Finds a Way’, host Alisha Wainwright explores Cryptococcal meningitis, the leading cause of death from fungal disease worldwide.
She speaks with immunologist Dr Rachael Dangarembizi and neuroscientist Dr Rebecca Drummond, who are collaborating across continents to better understand the disease. Dr Kyla Murphy also explains how new tests and treatments are helping save lives.
