The UN's Role in Protecting Civilians: A Conversation with Victor Moses #POCWeek

During Protection of Civilians Week 2026 amidst the growing number of global crises, we spoke with Victor Moses, Concern's Country Director for Yemen, about what protection truly means for people living through conflict. Often the conversation around civilian protection focuses only on physical safety. However protection must also include access to the essential resources: healthcare, clean water, nutrition, and education. These are not optional services. They are basic human rights. In Yemen, and in crises around the world, the vulnerability or scarcity of these services in times of conflict puts millions of civilians at further risk every day. Victor’s message to the UN Security Council is clear: protecting civilians must include protecting the systems and services that sustain lives. Because survival is more than escaping violence. It’s having the dignity, care, and support needed to live. #ProtectionOfCivilians #Yemen #HumanitarianAction #UNSC #humanrights Subscribe to Concern here: https://shorturl.at/ok4fG Follow Concern here: Facebook: https://https://www.facebook.com/concernworldwide X: https://x.com/concern Instagram: https://https://www.instagram.com/concernworldwide LinkedIn: https://ie.linkedin.com/company/concern-worldwide Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@concernworldwide
