RECAP DAY 1: DHIS2 Climate & Health Modelling Workshop KIGALI-RWANDA
Day 1 recap of the DHIS2 Workshop on Spatiotemporal Modelling of Climate-Sensitive Diseases held in Kigali.
On Monday, 23 January 2026, HISP Rwanda, in partnership with the Ministry of Health Rwanda, officially kicked off a five-day practical workshop bringing together over 60 participants from more than 15 countries across Africa, Europe, and Asia.
The workshop is organized by the HISP Centre at the University of Oslo in collaboration with the CSID Network, SOSCHI, the Data Lab for Social Good Research Group, and the Wellcome Trust.
Throughout the week, participants will gain hands-on experience in applying spatiotemporal modelling approaches to better understand how climate variability influences disease risks. The training also explores how DHIS2 tools, including the CHAP modelling platform and the DHIS2 Climate App, can support climate-informed disease surveillance and early warning systems.
This workshop aims to strengthen country capacity to analyze climate and health data, supporting more effective preparedness and response to emerging climate-related public health risks.
📍 Location: Kigali, Rwanda
📅 Workshop: 23–27 January 2026
