Regional Warehouse Operations training (SPC-WFP)
Here's a look back on a recent Regional Warehouse Operations Training delivered last year through the Pacific Humanitarian Warehousing Program, in partnership with the World Food Programme.
Bringing together warehouse and logistics teams from 11 Pacific Island countries and Timor Leste, the training focused on strengthening the systems and practices that keep humanitarian emergency relief supplies moving when disasters strike.
The week challenged a common misconception. Warehousing is not just about storage. It is about discipline, planning, and daily practices that protect supplies, uphold accountability, and support fast, well coordinated response under pressure.
Participants worked through real Pacific scenarios, including damaged infrastructure, remote locations, limited storage capacity, and sudden surges of goods. The focus was practical and grounded, recognising that preparedness is built long before an emergency begins.
