Electrification Academy 26: How industry can benefit from flexibility revenues

Across the world, industry players are looking for ways to reduce their energy costs. How can industry provide flexibility services to electricity grids? What revenues can industry players get from this? How will this improve the business case for electrification? On March 31, Marion Santini and Jaap Burger of the Regulatory Assistance Project welcomed to the Electrification Academy Surbhi Singhvi, Manager, Heat Decarbonization and Renewables, at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and Mathilde Chareyron, Head of Public & Regulatory Affairs at Sympower (an independent aggregator), to discuss: ** Case studies of industrial flexibility ** Current and expected revenue streams from flexibility ** New business models like virtual power plants ** Enabling policy frameworks About the Electrification Academy: In 2020, the then European Copper Institute and the Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) established the ‘Electrification Academy’ webinar series to explore practical aspects of the transition to a more electrified world. We conducted more than 25 webinars, for participants in 150 countries across the globe. RAP took on full stewardship of the Electrification Academy as of 2025. We’re delighted to continue to further these conversations about the importance of electrification and ways to advance this powerful tool for decarbonisation.
