Highlights from the Mott Million Dollar Challenge finals in Flint

June 15 and 16 marked the final phase of the Mott Million Dollar Challenge, a national youth pitch competition that engaged more than 5,300 K-12 students from across the country. Selected from thousands of video submissions, the creators behind the top 60 ideas traveled to Flint, Michigan, to pitch their business ideas and social solutions. Along the way, they built friendships, exchanged feedback, cheered each other on and grew as entrepreneurs. Funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation as part of its centennial celebration, the Mott Million Dollar Challenge was administered by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship in collaboration with VentureLab, Young Entrepreneur Institute, the Afterschool Alliance, Collaborative Communications and the 50 State Afterschool Network. The Challenge celebrated the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to preparing young people to be leaders in their schools and communities and builds on a decade of work with youth entrepreneurship organizations.
