Karen Aldridge-Eason | Mott Foundation 100 Voices

Flint native Karen Aldridge-Eason was the first foundation liaison to a governor’s office in the United States, a position she held as a loaned executive from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. She retired after leading the Office of Foundation Liaison for more than two decades, helping to coordinate public and philanthropic efforts to benefit the people of Michigan. She continues to serve on the Mott Foundation’s board of trustees. She describes why governments and nonprofits need foundations to be partners over the long term.
