ICTP Distinguished Conversation: Ignacio Cirac
Ignacio Cirac, director of the Max-Planck-Institute for Quantum Optics, has been awarded the inaugural ICTP-IBM Richard Feynman Prize in Quantum Computing for for his seminal contributions to quantum optics, quantum information science, quantum many-body theory, condensed matter theory, and mathematical physics. In this ICTP Distinguished Conversation, ICTP Director Atish Dabholkar and ICTP quantum researcher Marcello Dalmonte talk with Cirac about his central role in establishing the theoretical foundations of quantum information processing, including the theory of entanglement, quantum simulation, and tensor-network methods.
