The Adoptive Parents group is an initiative of Proyecto Vida Silvestre (PVS) to establish, among other purposes, a long-term strategy, in partnership with the community, to protect The Giant South American River Turtle (Podocnemis expansa) that still roam areas of La Virgen, a village in Cravo Norte (Arauca), in the Orinoquia region.
