ক্যারিয়ার বিরতির আগে মনীষা মাফরুহা আরবান হেলথে টেকনিক্যাল কো-অর্ডিনেটর হিসেবে কাজ করতেন। মানুষের জীবনে অর্থবহ পরিবর্তন আনার একটি সরল কিন্তু শক্তিশালী স্বপ্নই ছিল তাঁর প্রেরণা। নিজের পেশাগত পরিচয়ে তিনি গর্ববোধ করতেন এবং কাজের সঙ্গে গভীরভাবে যুক্ত ছিলেন। তারপর হঠাৎ করেই জীবন মোড় নেয়। কর্মপরিবেশের চ্যালেঞ্জ, একটি গর্ভপাত, চোখে টিউমার ধরা পড়া এবং সন্তানের বাড়তি প্রয়োজন, সব মিলিয়ে তাঁকে থামতে হয়, নিজেকে ও পরিবারকে সুরক্ষিত রাখার জন্য। সেই বিরতির সময়টা ছিল যেন অন্ধকার। ফিরে আসার চেষ্টা করতে গিয়ে তিনি দেখলেন তাঁর সিভি আর হালনাগাদ নয়, সাক্ষাৎকারের মুখোমুখি হওয়ার সাহসও কমে গেছে। সবচেয়ে কষ্টের ছিল নিজেকে অদৃশ্য মনে হওয়া, এমনকি যাদের একসময় তিনি সহায়তা করেছেন, তারাও যেন দূরে সরে গেছে। আত্মবিশ্বাস নেমে এসেছিল শূন্যে, আর ক্যারিয়ারের বিরতি তাঁর অভিজ্ঞতার চেয়েও বড় হয়ে উঠেছিল। এরপর তিনি খুঁজে পান উইমেনস রিটার্নশিপ প্রোগ্রাম। সেখানে তিনি শুধু প্রশিক্ষণই পাননি, পেয়েছেন সহমর্মিতা, দিকনির্দেশনা এবং নতুন করে ভাবার সাহস। আজ মনিশা জানেন তিনি কী চান, এবং নিজের জন্য নতুন সুযোগ তৈরি করার সক্ষমতাও তাঁর আছে। ক্যারিয়ারের বিরতি শেষ নয়। দৃঢ় প্রত্যাবর্তনই হতে পারে সবচেয়ে বড় শক্তি। --- Before her career break, Monisha Mafruha worked as a Technical Coordinator in urban health. She was driven by a simple yet powerful dream to create meaningful change in people’s lives. She took pride in her professional identity and felt deeply connected to her work. Then life shifted unexpectedly. Workplace challenges, a miscarriage, a tumour detected in her eye, and her child’s additional needs all led her to pause, choosing to protect herself and her family. That period of break felt like darkness. When she tried to return, she realised her CV was no longer updated, and her confidence to face interviews had faded. The hardest part was feeling invisible. Even those she once supported seemed distant. Her confidence dropped to zero, and the career break began to overshadow her years of experience. Then she found the Women’s Returnship Programme. There, she received more than training. She found empathy, guidance, and the courage to think anew. Today, Monisha knows what she wants and believes in her ability to create new opportunities for herself. A career break is not the end.
