Restoring the Land, Renewing Hope: Empowering Communities in Zimbabwe

Across Africa, restoring degraded ecosystems is key to improving livelihoods, ensuring food security, and building resilience for vulnerable communities. Through participatory planning and robust technical design, WFP’s asset creation initiatives bring communities together to transform their environments—reclaiming farmland, managing watersheds, and building a future of sustainable growth. To amplify this impact, WFP has launched the Livelihood Assets & Resilience Academy (LARA), fostering local expertise to scale resilience initiatives. In Zimbabwe, the bootcamp, led by the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) with WFP’s support, focuses on practical training for land restoration and community empowerment. Together, we’re paving the way for a more resilient, self-reliant future. #LandRestoration #EmpoweringCommunities #SustainableGrowth #Zimbabwe #WFP) For more information on the Climate Resilience Boot Camp, visit our website at https://www.wfp.org/stories/malawi-boot-camp-maps-way-climate-resilience-amid-hunger-southern-africa Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for the latest stories on our work around the world at https://www.youtube.com/c/WorldFoodProgramme?sub_confirmation=1 And follow the World Food Programme across our other channels here: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/WorldFoodProgramme Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/worldfoodprogramme Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/unwfp TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@worldfoodprogramme Twitter: https://twitter.com/WFP
