Improving Social Accountability in Education Sector

Transparency International Zimbabwe (TI Z), as part of a global anti-corruption network, is leading the Inclusive Service Delivery Africa (ISDA) project a regional initiative running in five African countries, including Zimbabwe. It’s supported by TI’s Global Health Programme and TI Canada. In Zimbabwe, ISDA focuses on tackling corruption in education, especially for girls, women, and marginalized learners who are hit hardest by poor service delivery. The project aims to: Strengthen education systems to deliver services fairly and free from corruption. Empower communities — particularly women and girls — to demand better education outcomes, Build coalitions between government, civil society, and citizens to promote transparency in schools. Corruption in education means broken schools, missing resources, and limited access for the poor. ISDA is working to change this by putting citizens at the center of the solution. This ZTN programme explores how corruption and budget gaps hurt Zimbabwe’s education system and what can be done to ensure every child gets a fair shot at quality learning.
