Advancing Global Health in a Changing World Order
On 4 September 2025, UNU-IIGH, together with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), hosted a high-level event in Kuala Lumpur to mark the 50th anniversary of the United Nations University (UNU).
The evening gathered representatives from ministries, diplomatic missions, the UN Country Team, local partners, and members of UNU-IIGH’s International Advisory Board.
A key highlight was the panel “Advancing Global Health in a Changing World Order” with Prof. Tshilidzi Marwala, Rector of United Nations University, Datuk Dr. Mahathar Abd Wahab, Director-General of Health Malaysia, Dr. Flavia Bustreo, Chair of the UNU-IIGH International Advisory Board, Dr. Feisul Mustapha, Director of the Perak State Health Department, and Dr. Revati Phalkey, Director of UNU-IIGH.
The discussion explored the role of UN in a changing multilateral landscape, Malaysia’s role in addressing global public health challenges in an evolving multilateral landscape, and the role of women in multilateralism especially the UN.
