The Success of Agricultural Integration under USMCA | North American Agriculture under USMCA

This panel discussion will explore how USMCA has reinforced one of the most integrated and successful agricultural trading relationships in the world. North American agricultural trade supports millions of jobs, sustains rural communities, and helps ensure stable food supplies for more than 500 million consumers region wide. At the same time, segments of the agriculture supply chain struggles to navigate the complexity of regional trade flows and longstanding bilateral trade frictions. As governments prepare for the 2026 United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) review, it is imperative to understand and consider this historic agreement’s impact on food and agricultural producers and consumers and what changes might mean for economic prosperity and supply chain resilience. To examine these issues, the CSIS Americas Program will convene a conference on the future of North American agriculture under USMCA. The event will feature a keynote conversation on food affordability, followed by two panels examining the successes and challenges of agricultural integration and the risks that broader trade tensions pose to the agreement’s agricultural framework ahead of the review. This conference is made possible through the generous support of the Corn Refiners Association, Drsicoll's, the National Corn Growers Association, and the National Milk Producers Federation & the U.S. Dairy Export Council. --------------------------------------------- A nonpartisan institution, CSIS is the top national security think tank in the world.
