Please join the CSIS Geopolitics and Foreign Policy Department in partnership with the Korea Chair, Japan Chair, Henry A. Kissinger Chair, and the Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI) on Thursday, June 18, at 2:00 PM for a discussion on the future of extended deterrence. Will Todman, Chief of Staff of the Geopolitics and Foreign Policy Department, will moderate a conversation with Dr. Victor Cha, president of the Geopolitics and Foreign Policy Department and Korea Chair; Dr. Kristi Govella, senior adviser and Japan Chair; Dr. Michael Green, CEO of United States Studies Centre and non-resident senior adviser and Henry A. Kissinger Chair; and Dr. Heather Williams, director of the Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI) and a senior fellow in the Defense and Security Department, to unveil the results of the new surveys of strategic elites in Japan and Korea regarding strategic elites' views on nuclearization in light of the wars in the Middle East and Europe, uncertainty about the United States, the rise of China, and North Korea's nuclear buildup.
