Does China want to be a global superpower?
The Trump-Xi summit has put China in the spotlight. Trade, technology, and Taiwan are all on the agenda. But what does Beijing really want?
"Just because China does not have a global military and has not wanted to project power globally around the world in the way that the United States does, it's not because they don't have the desire to be powerful around the world," Stanford University's Oriana Skylar Mastro said on these week's episode of Deep Dish. "It's just that they have determined that there are more effective ways of doing that."
