Climate Action Plans as a Coordination Tool Bridging Policy and Practice in WASH 2026
This webinar, held during the 2026 Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW), explores how Climate Action Plans (CAPs) can serve as a practical coordination tool to bridge global policy commitments with operational delivery in humanitarian WASH.
Bringing together speakers from the Global WASH Cluster, national coordination platforms, and partner organisations, the session highlights real-world experiences from Ethiopia and Somalia. It demonstrates how CAPs can help integrate climate risk, adaptation, and mitigation into WASH coordination, while strengthening collective action, planning, and accountability across stakeholders.
The discussion provides practical insights into translating climate commitments into coordinated, context-specific action, supporting a more climate-resilient humanitarian response.
Speakers:
Jon Randall, WASH and Climate Action Framework Consultant, IOM
Mohamed Shukri, Somalia WASH Cluster Co-Coordinator
Desalegn Abdisa, Ethiopia WASH Cluster Coordinator, World Vision
Andy Bastable, Head of Water and Sanitation, Oxfam UK
