In this session, we will take a journey to the sites of TCA case studies around the world. Each speaker will share a specific project in their region, highlighting the strategies that enabled its success and lessons that are applicable to scaling TCA implementation more broadly.Following the presentations, the speakers will come together for a moderated panel discussion. This session is designed to equip Summit attendees with practical insights and and transferable lessons that can be applied to diverse contexts. Lauren Baker - Deputy Director, Global Alliance for the Future of Food A systems thinker, skilled facilitator, and practical problem-solver, Lauren has worked for over 20 years in non-profit, government, academic, business, and philanthropic contexts. Lauren is Deputy Director of the Global Alliance for the Future of Food. With Global Alliance members and partners, Lauren leads the program strategy and supports diverse organizations and initiatives including the True Cost Accounting Accelerator, Transformational Investing in Food Systems, and the Agroecology Coalition, to address global challenges related to climate, biodiversity, food security, and equity. Claire van den Broek - Managing Director, True Price Claire is the Managing Director of True Price, a Dutch Social enterprise. As Managing Director Claire and the team are focussing their efforts on delivering the vision of the organisation, a world where all products are sold for their true price to ensure that the sustainable products become more accessible and affordable then the unsustainable produced ones leading towards a sustainable global economy. Claire has a diverse track record in several commercial and non-profit roles in different businesses and organisations such as Ahold Delhaize, KPN and Save the Children. Dmitry Zvyagintsev - Policy Officer, Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, FAO Dmitry is an experienced agricultural economist and policy analyst specializing in public agricultural expenditures, greener policies, and policy implementation. He has led and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams on ex-ante and ex-post evaluations, food security, rural development strategies, competitiveness analysis, geographical indications, and the greening of agricultural policies. He also applies True Cost Accounting to support policy dialogues. Carlo Azzarri - Senior Research Fellow, IFPRI Carlo Azzarri is a Senior Research Fellow in the Innovation Policy and Scaling Unit, currently based in Rome. His interests include the relationships among poverty, nutrition, food security, agriculture, environment, production, and migration, analyzed at both the micro- and macroeconomic levels, mostly through quantitative methods. He led the evaluation of the largest sustainable agriculture intensification program in Africa, in addition to several impact assessments of agricultural development interventions by multilateral development agencies. He holds master’s and PhD degrees in economics.
