Tamsin Fernandez-Cox, Regional Public Health Officer in the Migration Health Unit of IOM’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, talks about her recent experiences in Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu, conducting capacity building and leading three multi-sectoral point of entry (POE) assessments (in line with IHR 2005) on POE Preparedness and Response Capacity. In this podcast, she also discusses the specific key challenges and her corresponding recommendations on enhancing the Pacific Island functional readiness of POE in responding to public health emergencies. In addition, Dr. Kol Wickramage, IOM’s Global Migration Health Research and Epidemiology Coordinator, highlights strategies for improving migration health data at the country level.
