The ocean provides everything for coastal communities in Timor-Leste: food, livelihoods, and protection. So, when reefs suffer, so do the people who depend on them. That’s why Conservation International Timor-Leste and Conservation International Aotearoa are working with local youth and community members there, arming them with the tools and hands-on skills they need to monitor reef health, generate scientific data and, ultimately, steward their own marine areas for generations to come.
