Protecting Lives and Livelihoods in Colombia's High Mountains
Millions of people depend on Colombia’s high mountain ecosystems for water, food and livelihoods. But climate change and unsustainable land use puts these landscapes, and the communities that depend on them, at risk.
For more than 10 years, Camilo “Apiman” López has worked alongside Conservation International Colombia and local communities to restore these ecosystems and build more resilient ways to life – from their methods for gardening, to the bees that pollinate their plants and even the grazing systems that once depleted their lands.
Lasting conservation is #HumanPowered and this #EarthMonth we’re spotlighting the communities and individuals leading the way.
