When Carine Umutoniwase joined the Aguka programme, she had nothing but an idea and what she'd learned in high school. Through mentorship, she learned how to turn that idea into a real startup, managing finances, keeping client records, and following up for feedback. Today, Nerica Clean Ltd in Shyogwe, Muhanga, produces liquid detergent, shampoo, bar soap, and toilet cleaner and is close to securing S-Mark certification to enter the Kigali market. Her advice to young people: try everything, and know your "why", because a strong reason makes the "how" easier.
