#Kwibuka32: Remarks by Minister Olivier J.P Nduhungirehe | UN Rwanda Commemoration
On 22 April 2026, the United Nations Family in Rwanda gathered in Kigali to mark #Kwibuka32 — the 32nd commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, under the theme: “Remember — Unite — Renew.”
In these remarks, Minister Olivier J. P. Nduhungirehe pays tribute to genocide survivors, honors the victims and fallen UN staff, and recognizes the courage of peacekeepers and individuals who chose humanity in the darkest moments of 1994.
The Minister reflects on the meaning of remembrance, the global responsibility to uphold historical truth, and the continued need to confront genocide ideology, hate speech, and denial — wherever they exist.
As Rwanda continues its journey of unity, reconciliation, and progress, Kwibuka remains a powerful reminder that memory must be protected and that “Never Again” must be a real commitment, not just words.
